After two weeks on the road, today marked the final leg of our epic journey as we rode from Manali to Chandigarh. With an early start at 6 AM, we were ready to complete the last 280 km and celebrate the incredible achievement of riding through the Himalayas.

A Smooth Ride Out of Manali

We started the day early, aiming to reach Chandigarh by 1 or 2 PM. Having encountered diversions last year due to landslides, we were prepared for the same this time, but to our surprise, the roads were much clearer. Many tunnels that were under construction last year were now open, making the ride smoother. Even Mandi, which had been congested with traffic before, now had a bypass bridge that saved us a lot of time.

As we left the cold, crisp weather of Manali behind, the familiar hot and humid weather of Punjab started to take over. In that moment, we appreciated the cold mountain air we had been battling for days - it felt like a blessing compared to the sweltering heat of the plains.

Reaching Chandigarh: A Moment of Joy

By the time we hit the afternoon traffic, we were cruising comfortably through the roads, making good time. The highways leading to Chandigarh were excellent, and the ride didn’t feel like a strain, despite the 280 km distance. As we arrived at our hotel, everyone was thrilled—they had completed one of their dream rides.

For many in the group, this was Day 10, but for four of us, this marked Day 13 of our journey. Over the course of these 13 days, we had clocked nearly 3900 km, pushing our physical and mental limits. It was a tiring journey, no doubt, but the sense of accomplishment was overwhelming. It’s the kind of adventure that makes you wonder when you can do it all over again.

Bike Drop-off and Reflections

After freshening up, we headed straight to the courier company to submit our bikes and luggage for transport. With our bikes safely on their way home, it felt like the adventure was officially coming to a close.

In the evening, we gathered for a small celebration—a well-deserved party to toast the completion of this incredible journey. It was heartwarming to see everyone relaxed, happy, and sharing their experiences from the trip. We laughed, danced, and talked about what went right, what went wrong, and everything in between.

Why This Ride Mattered

One of the most special moments of the evening was hearing everyone’s stories about why they had embarked on this journey. Our group was made up of riders of different ages, each with their own reason for being part of this adventure. Some were seeking personal challenges, others were fulfilling lifelong dreams, and for all of us, these 10 or 13 days held a unique importance in our lives.

A Final Hug and Rest

As the evening wound down, we shared a final group hug, cementing the bond we had formed over the past two weeks. We headed back to the hotel, exhausted but content, knowing that we had accomplished something extraordinary together.

Day 13 was a day of reflection and celebration, a perfect end to an unforgettable ride. Over 3900 km and two weeks, we experienced the highs and lows of riding through some of the most challenging and beautiful terrain in the world. As we prepare to return home, the memories of this trip will stay with us forever, and we can’t wait to hit the road again for the next adventure.
